Pyzhikovaya cap since the USSR

Pyzhikovaya cap since the USSR

Fur has long been valued in Russia. In tsarist times, the nobility walked in sables and ermines, and in the Soviet one any one went. The skins were bought up, piled up, and then they were used to sew hats and fur coats. Each family knew a craftsman who could make a presentable type of fur product. Pleasure, of course, it was not cheap.

Surely everyone heard the famous song "Chizhik-Fawn, where have you been?". If everything is more or less clear with “chizhik”, then for many it has always remained a mystery about what kind of “fawn” they are talking about. This, of course, is about the modern generation, whose representatives did not find the heyday of hats from the interesting beast "Fawn". In some ways this is due to the process of making this headdress.

Today there are some problems in the search for detailed material, not everyone knows about the history of the headdress from the fawn. So why is he so famous compared to other hats? Let's see: what is the reason for the incredible popularity and who can be called the first owners of this prestigious headdress.

A bit of history

We turn first at the time a little before the formation of the USSR.

In tsarist Russia, students from St. Petersburg from Fontanka, students at the Imperial School of Law, wore hats made of pyzhik. Together with dark green uniforms, such a headdress made them look like sibling birds.

It was from this fact that the famous song was born: "Chizhik-pyzhik, where have you been?"!

Era of the USSR

In the 50s-70s of the last century, under the rule of the dear Leonid Ilyich Brezhnev, the hit of a fawn became a “hit”. Her it was considered almost the hallmark of the party’s elite. Getting a fawn cap for a person with connections was a fantastic success, but what can we say about ordinary Soviet citizens?

Fawn hat was out of reach and therefore especially desirable for everyone. If someone still managed to grab this thing, then there was talk and rumors. Not one headgear was watched so attentively and was not so carefully looked after. The black market dealers engaged in fake pyzhikovyh hats and successfully sold them, taking advantage of the incompetence of people. Indeed, it was a task for professionals to distinguish a real fawn cap from its twin.

Due to the fact that only the highest ranks of the country could afford to dream of the Pyzhikov, a famous mystery appeared: “Why are the Pyzhikov standing in the USSR and the hares coming?”. The answer to this question, however, was known to all the working people. At all the parades, the cadres of the party apparatus stood at the walls of the Kremlin Palace and watched the marching soldiers and citizens in the square above. Ordinary people wore cheap hats made of dark rabbit fur.

With the change of leader, the attributes of power have changed. As soon as Mikhail Gorbachev took the place of the General Secretary, “caps-pies” with cuffs became fashionable.

  • With a few skins it's simple. All ready-made parts of the cap when laying out the pattern should be placed along the ridge of the desired piece of skin. It is important to consider in which direction the fur grows;
  • in the case when they sew from the same skin, the visor is cut out from the spinal part, and the headset and headpiece are made from the neck part. The remaining material is used for cutting under-face details of the dressing.

Modern analogues
