How to clean the fur collar at home?

Natural fur collars are luxurious and attractive, they delight us with their softness and brilliant lilac hairs. It is unfortunate that after two or three seasons of socks they begin to fade, the pile stick together, and the appearance loses its appeal. The reason for this transformation is the banal dirt, which accumulates in the pile. In order to return the beloved collar to your favorite collar, you need to know how to clean it at home.

Fur Care Cosmetics

Since the time of grandmothers and great-grandmothers, there were ways of home cleaning of fur, which used such tools as semolina, talc, gasoline and ammonia. These methods seem to be effective, but can not compete with the processing of furs in dry cleaning. However, modern science offers homemade cleaning methods for furs that are fully capable of competing with professional technology. These are the tools that belong to the category of cosmetics for the care of fur.

Biofur

In Russia, the most famous formulations of the brand Biofur, referring to the category of gentle means for cleaning and caring for natural furs. They are able to clean off both pollution of chemical origin, for example, traces of cosmetics, and ordinary street dirt. Also Biofur helps rid fur from greasy and greasy shine. Biofur products are divided into the following categories:

  • Reducer: means for preventive fur care, which should be used if the product has become dull, has lost an attractive appearance, or has creases on it from long-term storage in a case.
  • Medium intensity cleaner, which is used in the presence of general contamination without clearly visible spots, that is, with the appearance of visible fat content and lint rolls;
  • Foam (soap) to remove particularly dirty or oily stains.

In order to clean the collar of natural fur from most types of pollution at home, it is necessary to apply all three categories of products consistently.

The cost of a kit for the implementation of comprehensive care will cost the buyer about 2,500 rubles, the volume of the bottles purchased for this amount is enough to process a mink coat of medium size. The kit Biofur also present a brush, which combed fur, terry cloth for wiping, as well as gloves and oilcloth. The sequence of actions when using Biofur products is as follows:

  • The product should be spread out on a table covered with oilcloth and the location of particularly intense stains should be located;
  • Shake the bottle with the foam (on which there is an inscription "soap") and apply no more than two injections on the surface of the brush, which then wipe the dirty spot without pressing it too hard, so as not to damage the pile;
  • For 2-3 minutes, roll the product and leave it for maximum exposure funds;
  • Wash off the foam with dirt using a damp terry cloth, trying to prevent the core from getting wet;
  • Then the entire surface of the collar should be cleaned with a cleaner, for which the bottle should be shaken several times and its contents should be sprayed onto the surface of the fur, without approaching more than 15 cm;
  • For better impact, the product should be rolled up and left for 15-20 minutes, then rinse off the product along with dissolved contaminants using a terry cloth.
  • When washing off the dirt, be especially careful not to wet the collar through and through, as in this case, shrinking of the core is possible during drying;
  • Spread the collar smoothly and allow it to dry completely naturally (without using a hair dryer); in the process of drying, periodically comb the fur with a metal comb, which is included in the kit, and shake the fur for better air penetration;
  • After complete drying, the fur should be treated with a spray-reducing agent Biofur, which will “revive” the natural structure of the crumpled fur and return shine to it. After spraying means leave it for 2-3 minutes, then remove with a damp cloth.

Thanks to this integrated method of cleaning the surface, any fur collar can return a fresh look and appeal, however this method does not help to save the product from yellowness.
